Max is a party animal!

On March 19, 2001, we adopted Max from the Wake County Animal Shelter. Max was picked up as a stray, so he had no history. Max had been at the shelter for 5 long months. A shelter employee told us that he would have to be put down soon. How could we let this friendly, loving dog be euthanized? You would think that being in the shelter for such a long time would've broken his spirit; but we think it only made his longing for love even stronger. He was labeled as a young, neutered Golden Retriever/Sheperd mix. Max captured our hearts with his puppy-like personality and beautiful smile. Max is 65 lbs. of fluffy love and affection. He does not know he's a dog - he thinks he's a child. Max loves our children and his new sister Lucky. Here's a picture of Max and Lucky. As you can see, Max has a very fluffy tail - he may have some Chow in him too. Max has the sweet Retriever temperment and has never shown any aggression. It's amazing that for 5 long months, this wonderful dog was passed over for adoption - I guess it was just meant to be. Now, we cannot imagine life without this precious boy!

Update on Max 09/11/02 - Max is now 2+ years old and continues to thrive. He is a ray of sunshine in our lives. Max has a great personality and always seems so happy. Max and his sister Lucky are inseparable. They love to wrestle, play, eat, and snooze together.
